Description
This image is dedicated to Roxy (brewgirlca). She is one of the sweetest ladies I know, and she has been my friend for a long time. She uses the programs (Poser-7, photoshop CS4 and PSPX2) and is a very talented lady. Roxy brings stories to life in her art. My personal favorites are the stories of Ishtar, which are both beautiful and exciting when told by her. A trip in her gallery is like a journey through time, and it is a trip you should make soon. You will soon discover she has the talent to make any vision come to life, just as she did in the story she told to me. This story shows what great character she has, and that Roxy can do anything she desires because her will is so strong.
Look Mom, No Wheels (For brewgirlca): Roxy grew up in a small town, so the only way to get around was by bike. All the kids had training wheels on their bikes, but eventually the other kid’s dads and older brothers taught them how to ride. All too soon Roxy became the only kid with training wheels and of course that was unacceptable! It meant being left out of the gang rides. Roxy asked her Dad to help her learn, but he worked very long hours and was often on the road for many days at a time; his home life time with her was always short. So if she was gonna learn to ride a bike she would have to do it herself. So one day she got a pair of pliers from her Dad’s toolbox and took off the training wheels herself. She set the bike up against the wall in the garage, and climbed on the seat. Then in one swift motion she pushed off the wall but soon fell down. she got up, did it again and fell down once more. This happened many times, but after a while she glided a few feet before falling. Over and over she tried and her mom told her to stop. She would not quit no matter how much it hurt. Failure was not possible! Finally she could glide all the way to the road! But, oh my, then she had to make a turn. And you know what happened… yep, she fell down.
Finally, it happened, she glided down the driveway, turned- without falling- peddled a few strokes… and to her delight realized she was at long last riding her bike without those silly training wheels! Her dog Candace saw Roxy gliding down the street and began to follow her barking all the way, almost as if she was cheering her on. Her Mom heard the noise and ran outside to see what was going on. She saw Roxy and Candace going down the street and was so proud of her daughter. At last Roxy could once more be a part of the gang. Even more important, that day Roxy learned if she tried hard enough and believed in herself she could make her dreams come true.

What an inspiring story! Roxy sounds like such a trooper - fierce and determined to get that bike going and rolling without help. I love it that she finally did it by herself. Wonderful picture to go with this. Cute bike - love all the pink in it. Great posing with the dog. Love her smile. You always find the best backgrounds and props for your scenes. It's great to see another charming picture from you!

Wonderful story and image! We did not have bicycles with training wheels. When I was in the third grade, my sisters and I had to walk to school. We could have ridden our bikes except for one thing. I couldn't do it. So I was under a lot of pressure to learn. My sister Gail tried to teach me. That didn't work. My dad tried to teach me. That really didn't work! Then my sister, Leslie had a go. Instead of holding the bike for me, she told me to glide down the gentle slope of our dead end street, and put my feet down when I needed too. It was a long slope and I put my feet down a lot at first. But with no one behind me making me nervous, I got it before too long. I remember the joy when I made it all the way down only putting a foot down once. Soon I was pedaling up and down the sloped road and we weren't walking to school anymore. Wonderful story of Roxy's perseverance and success! I love her expression of joy, pride and excitement. Great that the mom is looking on in surprise and pride and that the dog is so excited too. Excellent work!

Takes me back to when my Father taught me to ride in Singapore, way back in 1958! lol The crafty so and so, took his hand away from my saddle and swore blind he wouldn't let go! lol Well, of course, he did! lol There I was, riding round our garden, with no stabilizers! lol You captured the scene beautifully Dave!
