Description

These two cooling towers are from an old power station that is no longer in use and is situated in the heart of Soweto. Instead of demolishing them, they have been painted and is now used for adventure sport such as bungee jumping and tightrope walking etc. For those of you who watch "The Amazing Race"... a couple of series' ago the participants had to walk across one of these towers on a rope. The one on the left is just the sponsoring bank's colors and the right hand tower have all kinds of images depicting life in SA - You can see Nelson Mandela waving, a Metro Rail train, some housing, a kid on a go-kart, two men playing musical instruments, a well known taxi (the blue one) and some yummy eats. I think it is pretty cool... I have captured this image exactly one year ago today and it holds very fond memories. Thank you for your support in comments and favs on my Pretoria upload of yesterday! Hugs, Carin xx
