Description

Yes, I forgot yesterday to mention it is a Maple Leaf. We have a large Maple tree in the back yard. I have tried to get rid of it, as it takes alot of light from other trees, but it grows up again as nothing happened and now I have an even bigger problem, our Walnut tree. It is even larger now, but how could we cut that down?. It gives alot of good walnuts... for the squirrel and the crows. :-/ OH Well, let it stay then. It is actually a beautiful tree. Thanks for your kind comments to my previous post and special warm thanks to those, who added it to their favorites. I wish you all a wonderful saturday. The weather is still frosty and cloudy but a little less grey.

Amazing that this is a maple leaf! It looks a lot like some sort of lizard skin or the leathery part of a dragon's wing!

Oh this is fantastic! I love the textures and the rich golden color. Dead leaves are always so beautiful, even if they are not green. There is something about them that is always a comfort! I love the leaf-skeleton structure also; it is like a lace doily or something very fragile and made by somebody's grandmother. Zoom works perfectly with this. It is necessary to zoom in and see all of the fantastic details and little tiny plays of color! It is very rich. There are little pieces of frost or snow that look even more like jewels or very fragile pieces of glass that have been woven into this piece. It is stunning! In Chicago it's cold and cloudy. Not beautiful at all, but it is a little bit warmer than yesterday. Now the snow is melted and it's gray and dirty and it looks like a dirty goose that built a nest too close to the highway, so it's full of mud splatters. Also, I should note that I love Maple trees. They are incredible, and nearly indestructible. Walnut trees are even better, since they provide walnuts!

I looked at the thumbnail to this and I thought it was some kind of a crystal. When I saw it full sized, it was very, very nice. Zoomed in to full was really surprising. There is a LOT of detail in this. It looks like lace from my great grandmother's house, but not regular lace, maybe the kind that spiders would make, just because they are so small. I like the colors a lot. Those little bits of bluish white are really strange. I like them. They look mysterious. This is nice. Really very nice.

Beautifully captured. Maple trees are our national tree. I used to have a walnut tree, I miss it. I used to bake the nuts and eat them.. Nothing quite matches that taste.

Phenomenal!!!!!!!!! Never seen a maple leaf so gold in color. From the thumb nail it looked like a gold nugget or the gold leaf a jeweler would use for inlay.

Wow! Everything I saw on the last one, and more! It looks so beautiful against the dark blue. I love the areas where the leaf has disintegrated and only the tiny veins remain. Also, where one part of the leaf overlays another and does not quite obscure it completely. Like on the left, where a prominent vein and its surroundings rise to a point against the another part of the leaf below it. I love the patterns of the lines, as they circle, fork or run straight, rather like roads in a major city. I love the shiny golden glow. I keep saying I love. I've long since given up on trying to vary the words, because the truth is, I love everything about this image! Simply marvelous work! The weather has been unseasonably warm here, but is due to get to normal soon.
