'HMS Belfast', one of ten Town class cruisers, was launched on St. Patrick's Day, 17 March 1938. She was commissioned in early August 1939. In November1939 'Belfast' struck a German mine and spent more than two years undergoing extensive repairs. Returning to action in November 1942 with improved firepower, radar equipment and amour, 'Belfast' was the largest and arguably most powerful cruiser in the Royal Navy at the time. Thanks my friend! The last of the Royal Navy's Heavy Cruisers.. This one, after the re-fit, was very fast and heavy! If you get a chance to see it.. Its a very impressive ship..
