Description

The youngest of my three brothers it seems was born a naturalist. As a child he was always catching and playing with critters, some of them things I wouldn't even dare to touch. He played with all kinds of bugs, snakes, anything he could catch. I remember once when he was about 9 years old - maybe younger - he came to show me a beetle he had in his hand. He said, "this is a snap-beetle", and he proceeded to show me how, when he turned the beetle over on it's back in his hand, it would snap it's head back with a loud "click" sound and flip into the air to try to right itself. Needless to say I was intrigued and quite impressed by my little brother. Well the years have passed and we are both grown up and getting older and he lives right next door. No surprise - he makes his living via animal control. He deals with all types of animals and has a lot of knowledge. The above picture is one of a number of baby skunks he rescued from a pest control job he was called for. Isn't the little stinker cute? Enjoy.
