Description

This will be the last Mt. Rushmore image I share... I have plenty, but they are just variations of the same thing. I chose this one, not only because these are 2 of my favorite presidents, but it shows you a good look at the granite. I had to scale down the picture, but you can still see some of the detail fairly well. I used my 250 mm lens for this shot... Now I know why I see photographers carry around a variety of cameras with different size lenses on each... I have a story about this day and the next... but I'll save it for later. My previous upload, "George, Thomas, Teddy, and Abe". Thanks for your comments and views. I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I am enjoying the weather at the moment... High 60's no wind or rain! Although I hear that won't last. Have a great day~ HUGS, ~Melinda~

This is outstanding... I was telling a friend about my first time in South Dakota just last night because it was the first time I had ever seen it snow, I had seen and been in snow in California, but not seen it actually falling, and it was so beautiful. Of course now I live where it snows quite a few times a year in fact it did last night, so your weather there sounds awesome to me, I may just have to pack my bags soon. :) Nice work, and thank you so much for sharing these, and showing off a part of our country that quite a few never get to see. Did you happen to notice where this landed in the gallery?? interesting timing, don't you hate that. I have actually deleted one of my pictures because I didn't like the photo that was next to it.. sad but true. Enjoy that California sunshine.

Always wanted to go there. One day I will, I'm sure. Two of our greatest, especially Jefferson. Wish we had him around today. He'd be shocked at the road we're currently going down. But an excellent photograph. I will check out the other one. Thanks for posting!

I grew up in Rapid City, SD not too far from "the faces" as we called them. Great photographs and commentary. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder what they would have to say if they knew they were hammered into the side of a mountain the size of small asteroids! :-0 I love seeing all the details in the rock.

Very well captured. It is amazing that there are so many textures, both natural and man made. Dana
