Description
I was going through some old RAF mags from the 50's and caught an interesting picture of an all metal lanc. This particular one I have depicted operated with No. 82 Squadron, January 1952. It is seen flying out of Kabrik, Egypt on an armed recon sortie. RAF retired the last Lancaster in December 1953. (Source : Pictorial History of the RAF, volume 3, 1945-1969 by John W.R. Taylor and Philip J.R. Moyes, Arco Publishing.
By the way....the Lancaster model in it's original form (P for Popsie) is by Touchwood!

Fantastic job once again! It might be of interest to know to readers the 'The Last Lancaster' as it was referred to, was retired from the RAAF on 5th May 1965.. It to was was Silver.. It flew back, via Singapore and other stops, to England to become the famous 'Just Jane'.. This is now in Taxi condition and being considered to be brought to FULL airworthiness once again... It was escorted in on its final leg by a Canberra and Victor! into RAF Butterworth... (ref: Flypast Sept 09..) Pictures are included! But once again, yours is a stunner! Rob
