Let The Sun Take a Holiday {Death Of Magic}
Still shaken by the violent extraction she experienced last night, Cloud stands in front of her window with a hot cup of tea hopeful that its soothing properties will help calm her nerves.
Missing her friend Naomi who is still out there on her own trek she remembers something Arjuna her fighting instructor once told her. "When someone I love can't be here I put on their favorite music and it's like they are right there with me".
Touching the remote she pulls up file Naomi once programmed in her stereo.
As room filled with the sweet jazzy sound of an organ and guitar playing... no dancing with one another as a sax weaves in and around them making it seem as if children splashing about in the rain.
Together with drums and percussions they gradually increase to a climatic intensity then suddenly droop off to a soft mellow vamp, when a strong yet soothing voice that seems to come out of nowhere chimes in.
"Rainy day, dream away,
let the sun take a holiday.
Flowers bathe and see the children play,
even the birds can groove on a rainy day day in the park side pool.
And I'm leanin' out my window diggin' ev'rything".
Cloud felt herself begin to relax, and smiling as the image of Naomi fills her head.
It was almost as if she were their in the room with her now, laying on her side atop one of her oversized pillows, head propped on her elbow, smiling at her the way she would do while singing along with this her most favorite song.
"Lay back and groove on a rainy day"

I like the story ( very much ! )and the atmosphere. I agree with you : maybe a little too much rain. But it doesn't matter! Of course, a man who loves Jimmy Hendrix's songs and Kokopelli ( I met him many times last summer in New Mexico and Arizona ) is a friend!

You must be into music, as I can tell from the way you described the story in all details. And the artwork, of course is more meaningful with all these words. You did a fine job!
