Description

Made entirely in UltraFractal (except signature). I attempted to depict a summertime scene. That is the season when the California hills are covered with dry grass. I wanted the time of day to be during those last moments in the late evening called the "golden hour", and thus the objects in the foreground would soon be completely in the shade, were it not for the last remaining shafts of sunlight providing a spotlight effect here and there. For those who are curious, it took 154 layers to create this image, and I can't imagine how it could have been accomplished without UltraFractal's grouping feature, which nicely organizes what would otherwise have been a huge nightmare "dog pile" of layers (I remember how it used to be in older versions of UF). Full view is better for detail. Also, if you turn up the brightness of your screen, the detail in the darker parts of the image shows up better. Thanks for viewing. Dave

This is a delightful scene with great depth and careful coloring. The textures and lighting on the thornes are superbe. I wonder if the foreground and the distance would pop out even more if the trees were darker.
