Description

One of those "from the kitchen window" shots, and the window is a bit dirty from all the rains and snows, so the image wasn't real clean. But it was great for playing with, so I did the same thing that I did for getting the line drawing of Murphy, and then a little map displacement stuff, and then eased up on the opacity to allow the color from the original photo to show through. There's probably a faster way to arrive at the same place, but this was fun. I like how it turned out, hope you guys do, too. I'm thrilled that you all liked my little Murphy as a drawing, it's really fun to play with photos and see how all that manipulation turns out. Thank you for all the lovely comments, it's so encouraging to me. Thank you to for all the faves. I was almost all caught up about a week or so ago, but of course am way behind again, LOL! So I'm off now to browse the galleries and enjoy all the beautiful works of art y'all have produced!

WHAT A TERRIFIC EFFECT. Cardinals will always have a special place in memory because, growing up in Missouri and Kansas, in the winter there were two sources of bright color....bittersweet berries and cardinals. They always stir good feelings....but the texture on this!!!....it looks like an illustration out of an old book. I LOVE IT! I'm gonna have to try and figure this out...map displacement, huh?

I was sure I commented on this. What a great photo. I love how it looks like a water color. I like the tangle of branches and how you kept the trunk outside the frame. Delightful!
