You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia, if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !** that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

It took me a while to realize there are two ladybugs! That's an excellent shot, good composition! Happy Valentine's Day!

WOW! I love the fact that in the insect world males are smaller than females...and you caught these two beautifully. You know, it wasn't until last summer that I'd seen an infant ladybug for the first time. I had no idea their nymphs were so extravagant...they give tussock moth larvae a run for their money. And now, I see how they're commonly made! Great work. The aphids are a nice surprise too, but in all honesty I don't blame them for the holes...aphids are suckers not biters and chewers, but then in the land Down Under, there could be odd marsupial aphids with the jaws of death! One never knows! At any rate, this is a wonderful photo; great details and light control. And it's fitting for Valentine's day as well. Great work all around.

A great macro though I'm not sure this mating is going to work as he looks to be a bit small for the task. LOL. It must work though as there are lots of ladybugs about eh. The aphids are probably celebrating that the ladybugs are well occupied. A beautiful capture.

BB This is an excellent capture, and yes I suspect they will need some more energy by eating those aphids after their courting. Great macro shot my friend, hugs Jane xx
