Description

After we finished taking pictures in the forest, we moved onto and up another section where lava was eating away at the forest. It is more important to find your way out then finding your way in. Here, it is A'a (jagged lava rocks) over Pahoehoe (smooth lava rocks) over a'a...etc etc. Pahoehoe can turn into a'a but the reverse is not so. Lava is above, below, and on both sides of us. Just make sure you don't get boxed in. Aloha and thank you for viewing. Zoom in to feel the heat

I know this stuff moves slowly, but it's really scary nevertheless. Glad you made it out...

Yeah, definitely way too hot for me. I thought walking through 30" snow was bad, most I have to worry about is wet feet. The patterns of the lava flows are very cool, if not so hot I'll be some awesome abstract shots can be found everywhere. Very well done boss!
