Found on a split rail fence on Whidbey Island, Washington. Wet, wet, wet...
It almost looks like some wee folks have been planting a garden. :)
These tiny features need a ZOOM to fully appreciate.

Yes, that's what a Brit or Aussie would exclaim on seeing this: "look at all the blooming moss and lichen, mate!" Stellar clarity and light/shadow effects really bring the equally spaced horizontal striations to full bore in this superb capture, Bill.
