My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.

That is a great shot. ANd I really like the greyscale in it. :-)

This reminds of me a place I saw in Georgia, has some of the same kinds of structures. Great shot, and B&W is perfect!!

Doing it black and white gives it a sense of nostalgia. I like it. Great work, and awesome shot.

Wow, it looks very ethereal! Well done!

I agree with Denise, this does look ethereal. I love all of the lines and the unexpected angles. Working in black and white is so much fun, especially when you have a subject as interesting as this one. I love the POV here and the haunting mood of this piece. As usual, this is GREAT work!

Marvellous! Just needs FOG! You've composed this so well with the tower seen under the near one.

I'm ashamed to say I have never heard of it. Your photo does it proud though. I'm off now to goggle all about it!

This is a really nice shot, love the b/w treatment and postwork, looks like you did the orton effect on it. No matter which, it came out very well. : )

Looks to me like you don't have all that far to go enroute to adding more fine B&W photos to your gallery Tara:) Well done...subject is fascinating and your info adds to the overall effect of this piece. Of course, I know, you'd like it better if there were reflections in it somewhere:-) LOL.

Wonderful picture!!

good POV, very nice shot.

Wonderful B&W image, very stark. With the watchtowers the overall feeling is of a prison.

WOW! I'm so jealous, I would have a field day around that place. A perfect choice for black and white, nicely done all around; hopefully you'll show us some more of this place... Thank you for the kind words on my humble little gallery, I appreciate it and am glad you got a little inspiration from it:)!

This is a great work in BW - very appropriate for a military location. Absence of people makes it even more severe and also eerie. Love it!
