Description

Let me state, that this is only to show, how the MGM Grand hotel lion, looked years ago and not to upstage the posting that Bill put up a few nights ago. I am but a photographer compared to the master works that Bill has posted over the years – coming up on 600 postings. You entered the MGM Grand hotel, between the lion’s paws and the new lion that Bill posted is in the same spot – just higher up. In the left side of this photo – you will see next to nothing. Today, the ” New York – New York” hotel is in that spot. I’m guessing that this photo is about 20 years old and recently scanned. There goes my neat looking desk. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments and favs. Dana

hmmmm, someone didn't have a sense of macabre humor when they designed this building. I'd have had the mouth open so you would have to walk into the lion's mouth... but then, that's me. Great shot and very impressive building

I remember all the hype when this was built...how stellar it was in the world of casinos. Wonderful memory and really great shot - even as one scanned.

Glad you saved it to show us. I remember when it was built but I never remember seeing a photo. It looks very art deco. Great shot. Thanks.
