Description

This was a fun shot. I wanted to see myself dipping my toes in the Atlantic for the first time. I aimed and got the view, handed the camera to my friend, pushed the 1o second button and ran like hell!! But don't I look peaceful??!! It was a cool feeling, seeing another ocean for the first time. On that particular trip, I also saw Galveston Bay in Texas, though didn't get IN it. All these oceans, so little time!!

you were smart not to get in Galveston Bay as it is nasty stuff with all the trash from ships and oil refineries

Did you notice the sun rises and sets in the wrong direction there? I found it hard to get used to that, but the Atlantic does have its own charm! Nice shot!

LOL...that reminds me of me on my honeymoon, when I dipped my feet in the Pacific for the first time...A LOT, LOT warmer than the Atlantic off of the New Hampshire coast. And Mrs.Ratbag is right, LOL!!! When we were in Hawaii my hubby took a LOT of sunset pictures. The first time either of us had seen the sun set in the ocean. Hope you had a great time!

Well, I don't agree with Richard about Galveston Bay since that is where I swam, fished and frolicked for over 20 years and a few years ago,I took my grand daughter there and she also tip-toed through the low, rolling surf. Yes, the water looks like coffee and cream but its relatively shallow near shore and stirs up the sand.I like this shot... it shows pensiveness.
