Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The circular patterns are made by irrigation lines that pivot around a central support. Your photograph shows crops that are growing in a circle, which is not the same thing as a crop circle! Crop circles are geometric and artistic patterns cut into a field, either by farmers or aliens, depending upon your point of view. Aside from all that ... cool shot! :D

Amazing!

Wow! If it wasn't for Tara's info, I would have thought the Aliens did it. Nice shot. Aloha

And I thought it was a sewage plant!

I've always wondered about those too. Excellent shot from the plane, looks like you got a good window!

Super shot taken out of the (starboard?) window of New Mexico farmland, the wonderful haze in the distance, and engine, Maz. My brother lives in Santa Fe. I don't know. Those circles remind of the blank ones you fill in with ink on a ballot or questionnaire. And the real good, meticulously precisely created crop circles are the handiwork of either ET aliens or time travelers.

Super shot Marilyn and thanks to Tara, I've learned something new tonight. Dana

I do love these! What really gets me is how silver the cuff of the airplane engine is. I like that contrast and those circle thingies, and the tawny, ruddy desert surroundings. This is deliciously otherworldly and I can think of a few stories to go along with it...funny how your stuff always does that...my inner Science Fiction writer likes your stuff as much as my outer photography viewer...I like that kind of personal synthesis! Great work...as always.

Excellent Marilyn...just stopped by and this caught my eye. Sorry I have done such a terrible job of keeping up lately. My four day weekend in Las Vegas really messed up my commenting.
