Description


Another quick pose by my cardinal friend as he drops by our back door for some more sunflower seeds. I like this shot better than an earlier post because this time he's completely out in the open, which is rare. Note the sunflower seed in his beak just before he smashes it open. Still haven't got the shot of his mate I've been wanting. Shes even more skittish than he is. But I’ve got a lot more sunflower seeds left. marshall

What a wonderful shot! I've always loved images of cardinals on the ground. The bright red against either a white snowy backdrop or a bright green grassy backdrop -- looks great either way. I guess they look great against a blue sky too. Just can't go wrong with cardinals.
