Description

I’m back in the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, west of Delray Beach, Florida. This looks like an Egyptian Goose but I’ve never seen one in Florida before. There was only the one. Wikipedia says they are about 27 inches (70cm) long. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments and favs. Dana

the way people bring in animals into the country and then let them go is overbroad. I guess that how he got here too. someone pet was let loose into the wild or he flow away from his cage?

Cool clarity and composition in this capture of the goose, Egyptian or not, Dana! I like the reflective and textured effect of the water. I try standing on one leg also while doing my balancing exercises in the morning. Of course, the goose's webbed foot offers more area to support itself on than my foot does for me.

WOW! Egyptian geese in the USA...? Well, at least one such creature here. It's amazing the number of interlopers that spread around the entire globe, and it's rather odd how interloper species aren't always because of humankind meddling...sometimes things just migrate. Now you've got me wondering if there's an Egyptian Goose colony somewhere in Florida. This is a wonderful shot and I love the clarity and the goose's one legged stance; it's rather a funny play on the sideways stance people often associate with Egyptians--at least the ancient varieties of them. This is a great shot.
