Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Wonderful scene!

Moody for sure! I love the starkness of this and the way that the sand grains actually stand out so well. The whole image has a nicely isolated, or at least solitary feel and that works so well, especially in monochrome. For me, this seems to walk the edge between tranquility and expectation and I love that unexpected bit of tension. This is most excellent!

Sparkling stark contrast in this raw image, Maz! The title fits the image to a T, young lady. But who or what is that dark image on the shoreline....a seal, or per chance a mermaid?
