Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Wooden. Nice. I love the sound they make, the way they seem so rickety but obviously they aren't...just flexible. It's been ages since I've been on one of those puppies and it's high time I got on one. I love the rich tones in this, you really have this way with wood you know. This rocks...oh wait, maybe it should remain steady...all that wood you know. Oh well...this is one great photo. It's a zoomer too...so many details come out on full view.

Great shot. I absolutely love the big coasters. I remember spending 3 full days riding them at Knott's Berry Farm!! That was 10 years ago. I'm sure they have gotten heaps scarier these days. I have to say though that speed is my thing. Spinning madly and getting dizzy isn't, so I try to stick to straight line speed! That looks suitably rickety I must say. The colours are great, it makes me think of a beautiful sunset.

Obviously? Obviously! I should not have known if you hadn't said..they are outside my experience as I find funfairs incdredibly depressing! It is a fascinating structure!

Oh yes ... I knew right away what it was from the thumb, and that it was your image! Fantastic work. I can feel that drop!

This is great! These old coasters are disappearing. Great POV.

With that title I thought you were going to show a pic of you negotiating the Colorado River rapids. Cool clarity and quasi silhouette effect in this snap of the rickety-wickety, balsa wood, roller coaster, Maz. The beams looks so fragile that it actually looks like a toy. I think I'll pass going on this one.

One can just imagine the big drop on this bone-shaker... it's only a memory now, taking it's last breath before demolition! nice colours, textures and POV, worthy of a photo. BB
