Description
The Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix track in Albert Park Melbourne. The race is run on the 29th May each year, over a total distance of 5,303 KM (53 laps). The track is being set up as we speak! That's Pit Lane on the left and the main straight on the right. I have never seen the actual race 'live'. The closest I ever get is watching it on TV at a friend's place. He lives literally feet away from the track so we can even feel the ground tremble........and I get to slink about the track taking photos whilst it's being set up!

I've heard they are really loud... But SINCE health and Safety got their spindly claws on it its gotten boring... They all look and sound just the same.. Where are the great sheets of sparks that used to spray from under the cars... lol The fun... Cool picture though! Rob

Great shot of the empty track - but we know that this will change

Let 'em rip! Drop the green flag. Get out the beer. All great sights and sounds and even smells when the race is underway. Now, you've got me visualizing... Good pic Andrew!

Outstanding capture my friend.

great shots, I live about 15 miles from Silverstone where the British Grand Prix is raced. I've never been but have been caught up in the traffic nightmare plenty of times, driving at speeds of a snail rather than Jenson Button LOL

I like the Doppler Effect as demonstrated on racetracks, but have yet to attend an actual race. I suppose I will one day. Great shot, and what intensity! I love the POV and the fact that it's a racetrack without a race going on. That's the good part about slinking anywhere, you get to capture some cool sights.
