You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia,  if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess  I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !**                                              that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

I have never thought much about young spiders learning how to make a web but I guess they do have to learn. A super capture and she does have great markings on her back, and I do see the likeness to the art. By the size of the catch they look as if they will have plenty to eat for a while.

They don't seem so creepy when seen in a photo. They are actually very beautiful. Great shot!

WOW! Looks like somebody's having cicada for dinner! Great capture, and yeah...the things that live in gardens are quite easily the best photographic subjects around, especially when they're as well dressed as this little eight-legged beauty. I love the details and the grace of the spider in the foreground--its so symmetrical, all of his (her?) legs working in perfect synch to keep lunch all wrapped up tight (to prevent spoiling.) Wonderful work! Well seen! We don't have this particular species in the USA, but they have their cousins: they're impressive and a wee bit timid as far as spiders go.
