Description
Most times after returning from a long days hike in the lava fields, I'll close my eyes to rest or sleep. My vision of the lava doesn't go away just yet. I still see the lava movement, the dangers, the holes, the fragile ground collapse beneath me, trees burning, a'a lava, pahoehoe lava, smoke, slipping/falling and everything around me for that day. Its like going fishing on a boat all day, coming back and the ground is still rocking. Well, this last of my series puts me to ease. While hiking and walking up the Pali, viewing the lava flow at Royal Gardens, a reflection of light far away from me was blinding my eyes, as if a mirror was reflecting the Sun. I had to move a distance till the light wasn't blinding me and I could see a little but just couldn't make out what it really was. I thought it was part of a mirror or something. Curious, I got closer to it and here it is. It just reminded me of the movie Moses....and this was the Ten Commandments yet to be written. Aloha and thank you for viewing

Your vision is vivid and well documented in your photo. I often wonder what it must be like to spend a day in the lava beds... you made it very clear. I can relate.

good title for this.... you ever hear of "sink holes".... I've seen some cars end up in them from the moving water underground, I can only imagine there has to be sink holes from the moving lava.... unless you like the soot on you when you sleep, I'd find a new place to nap - lol Cool picture... Moses says hi.
