Description

Winding down on this series with one more after this. It was an expensive trip where I broke my tripod and trekpod. Little falls, scratches and bruises but liquid bandage fixes it all. You pick up all the pieces including yourself and keep on hiking hopefully to end the day with a great story to tell. Aloha and thank you for viewing.....

WOW! What an image! I'd pay to make a capture like this. I particularly love the smoother lava forming a kind of sensual bulge catching sunlight, while the hotter stuff continues to ooze rather like...well...like lava! This is an amazing piece of work, showcasing Mother Nature's love of the abstract (in terms of freeform shapes.) Great stuff!

I hope you zoomed to get this or you were just way too close! Amazing pooling and liquidity of the rock is stellar.

I'm glad we don't have volcanos in Colorado, or I'd have to be crazy like you and Dave and take up lava shooting - lol... I've seen a lot of punaguy's photos threw the years and don't look at too much art since I have so many favorites, but I noticed you've been taking lots of shots of lava/fire so I definately want to come back for more... super shots.

Your trek has been filled with the unseen...exposed for us all. I sure can see how a fall on this rough terrain wouldn't be difficult...well, you will get some new equipment out of this hike too. Beautiful set of images for us.

Considering the nature of your subject matter, I'd say you did alright, could have been worse. If it were me there, the tripod and my feet would probably be gone:). Cool shot, the color and textures of the lava are fantastic. Well done again!
