Description
The swans were still where they were yesterday, so I kept out of that field. Jasmine was very hot on scent today & was a bit naughty & I had to go & retrieve her & she knew I was cross, not that she really cared :o)
I decided not to take Meadow & Carla 'B' into the field with the swans in as I thought Meadow would have been a bit stronger & wouldn't have been worried by the swans at all. Meadow too was hot on the old scenting & she went in to the thicket (took a pic so I could show you) all of a sudden she started her high pitched yelp when she is onto game, I was quite astonished that a pheasant would be moving quickly in the thicket as I could hear Meadow running through the brambles, thornes etc. All of a sudden right in front of me & Carla 'B' emerges a fox, AAGGGGHHHHH, my first thought was to catch Meadow as she followed it out ASAP. Her head emerged & I immediately called her, the little sweetheart stopped & came to me, boy was I pleased. My worst nightmare is for a fox to lead one of the girls off & onto a main road. Meadow was a good girl BUT unfortunately I did keep her on the lead for the rest of the walk, just in case!!!!! As for Carla 'B' she just watched foxy go & decided it was too much like hard work for a nearly 13 year old, bless her!!!!
We have the FABULOUS Caesar Milan in the country. He is amazing, I hope he is going to Crufts!!!!!!

So glad she listened to you Barbara as it would be terrible for her to get onto the main road. That was always a fear I have when I see people taking their dogs out for a walk and letting them run way ahead of them.

some dogs killed many flamingos at a Florida zoo recently.I think my big dog would try and kill any bird since she hates them and has killed in the yard

It's good you have such good control of them. When our granddogs come we have a hard time to keep them from chasing the deer.

Oh my, no wonder the girls love to go for their outings! the high point of Murphy's walk is seeing a rabbit, or running into one of his friends out walking their human!
