Description

....when you realize that things are not, in fact, going your way. (Bug Comic, following , The BFG) Rain had managed to do a tricky underhand loop onto Camo Guy's ankles. As Camo Guy hit the pavement, Rain stamped on the plasma knife, reducing it to little bits. Then Camo Guy reached into his jacket and pulled out a gun. At least Rain thinks it's a gun--he's never seen one that small before. (He has one himself on the farm, but it's for bugs..and it's bigger). -------- Now some people may argue that it would have made more sense to throw the rope loop *over* Camo Guy's head, and Rain had thought about it, but he's normally the "heeler" when they round up heifers to chip and vaccinate them (his Uncle Richard is the "Header") so he's more used to aiming for feet, and the rope was shorter than he liked. He also often goes after the heifers on foot, and if you do that and rope a heifer's head, you don't stop the heifer--you go for a ride;) The trees here are mostly Gill's GillBrook's png trees, at Digital Designs Unlimited, and that is why the truck is hers;)

That's definitely an "Oh s***!" moment! Hopefully a quick yank on that rope will solve the problem... or at least delay it! :o)

I am at the top of your "hugest fan" list. Images like this is why. I look at them for a long time, taking in all the detail. The lighting in this one is perfect, it looks like the houses are up-lit, just like theywould look at night. And that night sky is gorgeous. And when Rain gets through moping this guy up, I want to go for a spin in that armored vehicle. great work Lynn.

I am curious what will happen next... and this gun is a ladies gun actually as it fits into every purse. I laugh my arse off it is only a lighter or a water gun... ;-)

i am woefully far behind on comments, for which i apologize. this is a great image, as usual, with excellent composition and storytelling. i think Rain's pose and expression are little stiff and out of place, but Slicer's pose is perfect. i like the orange highlights on them and their clothes. the color of the sky and the darkness of the leaves work well with the city lights.
