Description
Captured back on 10/29/07, at the 6th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
Much better viewed full size.
These labor-of-love models are capable of flight, and did so, noisily performing aerobatics, such as loop-the-loops and aerial combat with each other. Along with the models themselves, the owners had brought along tons of auxiliary gear to the event.
For some reason, some of the models shown with two bladed propellers should have four bladed props, at least for the sake of accuracy.
I almost identified the Sea Fury as a Hawker Tempest, but then checked it out and discovered the tail dorsal section on the model shown didn't match the one on the Tempest. A most fortunate find. debbielove, bmac62, and other RR aviation mavens would have had a field day at my expense if I had goofed on that ID.
And, those are real live veteran Lilliputian pilots at the controls.
Toodles, thankx for climbing aboard, and for any comments and/or faves.

Nice pics Harry, I recognise the Mustang..P-51D 'Ridge Runner III' serial 44-72308, flewn by Pierce Mckennon. I did this paint job for ThunderR's P-51. Rob will love the Sea Fury. Thanks for sharing.

Wish I was there with you at this show. Everytime I see radio controlled models I am enamored with the detail, the size and realism. I've even seen a B-29 on YouTube that was almost as big as a small Cessna...just amazing. Thanks for these Harry.

Ah yes! I knew I saw a Thunderbolt and P-51 but I DID miss out that fantastic looking Sea Fury.. Hawker always did make super cool looking aircraft... Great shots Harry! Rob
