Hello everyone and thanks for looking... From time to time, one of our fellow Rendo artists will post a picture then get comments from some disgruntled member that makes the artist stop and reconsider just why they should be posting their work in the first place. It seems every other week someone here is saying they're gonna take down their gallery because some talentless hack decided to send a flaming comment. Personally, I enjoy seeing the negative comments, because that tells me where I need to improve, and gives me something new to work on. For some of our friends here, posting their art is a very personal expression, and they don't take criticism in the same way. It takes a certain amount of courage to post something that you've worked on, put a little heart and soul into, and let others criticize it. For some, those comments can be pretty important to their self esteem, and their desire to post anything again. Folks even take offence if the commenter hasn't written a huge book about their work, and tend to look down on the "Nice job!" comments, too. Does anyone out there know how many pictures get uploaded to Rendo each day? I'm betting it's more than a couple hundred. Who's got time to write a book on every one, and still let folks know they've seen it? For all my friends out there, please don't take offence if folks give you a bad review. Think of it as constructive criticism. If you get a short comment, well at least the poor slob bothered to look at your work! And if you think someone's work could be better, why not tell 'em what you liked about it, what they could improve on, and if you'd like to see more of their stuff? Oh well, that's my rant for the day. What do you think?
