Description

Another shot looking north to thirtyfourth street and fifth avenue and the Empire State Building. I still couldn't remember where I was when I took these pictures.

Beautiful view and capture! The fog emphasizes the curve, like it is the edge of the world! I will be in NYC the end of April!

Simply brilliant. Out of curiosity, do you have any sunny day pics of Manhattan?

I like the fogginess and the exalted POV which is the only way to take it all in. Gorgeous!

Yes .. I don't wonder that your unconscious defended your mind from the memory of where these were taken. I will not begin to pollute your gallery with the emotions still stirred up by looking into this perspective from today. Only a ghost could take such a photograph now.

I woke up this morning, I could barely breathe Just an empty impression In the bed where you used to be I want a kiss from your lips I want an eye for an eye I woke up this morning to an empty sky     . . . The sky was falling and streaked with blood I heard you calling me, then you disappeared into the dust Up the stairs, into the fire Up the stairs, into the fire I need your kiss, but love and duty called you someplace higher Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire May your strength give us strength May your faith give us faith May your hope give us hope May your love give us love -Bruce Springsteen

Man, how'd you ever get the instinct to get so much purple in these? Maybe it was from the tower you shot from, but you didn't take it 'out' of the shots, and it makes a really strong presence for NYC. The place is crammed, intense, polluted, majestic, crazy and it has a haze over it that separates it from the rest of the universe. (Like that famous Saul Steinberg New Yorker cover.) I love this shot. It's got real ugliness to it, but its real NYC. And you got a curve to the horizon which seems fitting. I really like these NY shots. You have a way of getting essences wherever you go...
