Description

An innovation on the Great Lakes was the " Fort " series vessels that could load and off load from the side of the ship. It made certain cargoes easier than others to load and offload. As vessels went, the " Fort " class were a very sleek design and very efficient in terms and use. They are all gone now, sent to scrap, save one the Fort St Louis who apparently ended up in Montreal as a museum. Thanks for the peek..........
