Description

I guess I'm still making progress on the Carrara 7 front. I'm still a noob - but getting better LOL! The lighting and shaders are particularly challenging right now. As promised, here are the male characters in the Aranée story, retextured and with C7 shaders. With this group, I am now able to resume the story. Of course I still have a few characters to convert from Daz Studio - but you haven't seen them in the story yet LOL! As time wears on, I can see the move to Carrara was a good one: This scene has 9 fully-outfitted characters (including the horse) and Carrara let me compose the scene and render it without a single hiccup. In fact, I am convinced I could have as many as thirty characters in here and it would still work great. Poor Daz Studio would probably let me build a scene as complex as this one - but it would crater while trying to render it. DS would have effectively stopped the story in the more complex episodes ahead - C7 will allow them to unfold more-or-less as I see them in my minds eye...
As a consolation for the waiting that Aranée fans have had to endure, I put a clue in this scene: One of the men has a secret past and identity. Can you figure out which one and what is his secret? Enjoy!

Oh yes, DS would render up to 99% in two days.. then it would go blip and close.. :) (and DON'T ask why I know this for sure!) Wonderful mutiple character scene Larry!

Wow, the switch was sure worth it. Not only can you do group work but the overall quality is exponentially greater. I'm gonna have to look into C7 too as poser won't let me render more than 2, maybe 3 if I'm blessed, full poly figures in my scenes and I'm gonna need 4-5 on a regular basis. I'm guessing it's the head "greener" - he seems to have elf ears but I cannot blow it up enough to see for sure.

Congrats on the obvious progress with Carrara ... that's a wonderful cast of characters that you have assembled. In my opinion, you've achieved a wonderfully complex and believably superb render. Well done.

Wonderfully done - and so glad you are finding your feet with Carrara! It can have it's share of "blips" too but it is pretty stable overall, depending on how hard you push it. Really looking forward to the continuing story!
