Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Very nice, if melancholy, poem. Your words capture a feeling of lost love. Well done.

Beautiful poem!

Wonderfully succinct and it reminds me of something I read in a short little novel called Weetzie Bat which seems like a novel right up your alley...it's incredibly inventive and giddy. But anyway, one of the characters declared "Love is a dangerous angel," and this poem captures that perfectly. Love is so complicated and weird, and often doesn't exist when it should or when you'd really want it to. This captures that beautifully, especially in the end when the realization hits in that cold, sobering way. Wonderful!

Excellent writing ... this is VERY well done. When what's true in the moment is not true for all time, the result is such a let down. You've expressed the experience perfectly.

This is rather sad. It's always hard when your affections are not returned. Like Joan Baez once said, "Love is a pain in the ass!"
