Description

Another picture from my "Salamis battle" project. All Greek shields symbols are historically accurate, representing the clan, the city state or the class it's hoplite belongs to. I think i could do something better here but as always, time was pressing really hard. Hope you like it people...Things here in Greece are getting to be seriously bad...So, art is a way to get your mind out of what you face every day... Kind regards ---Kostas.

Great historical scene! Excellent composition, particularly like the POV of the trireme bearing down on the Persians. Hope things get better for you there soon. Greece has a history of coming back from seemingly insurmountable problems.

The Battle of Salamin come on 23 Sept. of 480 b.C. and was a great event for Greeks, probably their last chance against invasion of Serses and Persians. A fleet of 350 greek ships had to face more than 700 Persian ships. And only a great strategical tactic of Themistocles and Euribiades, that attracted in a narrow bay the opponent fleet lead to success the Grecians. GREAT HISTORICAL TRIAL AND WONDERFUL IMAGE...I WILL FOLLOW THE NEXT EVENTS OF YOUR STORY! Congrats!
