Description

PEEL STREET MONTREAL Peel Street is a major north-south street located in downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The Street links Pine Avenue, near Mount Royal, in the north and Smith Street, in the Southwest borough, in the south. The street's southern end is in the Peel Basin on the Lachine Canal. The street runs through Montreal's shopping district. McGill University buildings line much of its uppermost section. Further south, Peel is home to McGill's Martlet House, the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association, Canada's oldest athletics association, and the Consulate General of Pakistan. The street borders the western side of Place du Canada and the adjacent Dorchester Square, the Chateau Champlain, Windsor Station and the Dow Planetarium. The Peel Metro station is named for the street. Opened in 1845, Peel Street was named after Sir Robert Peel, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Until 1959 Peel was known as Colborne Street south of Notre-Dame Street, and up until 1968, the street was known as Windsor Street near René-Lévesque Boulevard. Elle relie le flanc sud du mont Royal à l'arrondissement Sud-Ouest, un quartier traditionnellement industriel. Cette rue, située en plein centre-ville, est parsemée de commerces et de tours de bureaux. Ouverte en 1845, la rue tient son nom de Sir Robert Peel, un homme politique anglais. Also a great place to spend a day I use to work at Montreal bank as a page girl(yep thats aging myself for sure) so did my sisters as it was a job you could get and still go to school close by::I took a few business glasses at McGill: thanks for the memories:: don't get here much--today was a 1/2 day with babysitting::

superbe vue de montreal,mais ca donne pas vraiment envie d'y vivre,pourtant c'est une ville tres agreable,tres chaude,malgre le climat,enfin c'est ce que m'on dit les gens qui y sont aller,il faut,sans doute ,y vivre pour se rendre compte!!belle photo,cousin!!
