Description

The Carl English Botanical Garden surrounds the Ballard Locks in Seattle, and at this time of year the camelias are in bloom. I think I'm too tired to be posting, because I can't think of a thing to tell you about this. Ummmmm ... it's a pretty flower. :D

Love the softness of this shot. A stark contrast to the harsh work that I do. The color steals the show here. Very well done.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: nobody photographs flowers like you. You touched this up with "watercolour". Right?

There are times when pink comes across as nothing more than a very wimpy, weak red...and there are other times when pink just grabs your eye and declares its pinkishness with glee. The pink in this picture is the latter...and it's a marvelous shot, perfectly presented too! The pink to one side arrangement really showcases the petals, the faint (and not so faint) shadows, and the whole beautiful complexity of the flower. Great dark green in the background too. There's postwork here, very subtle, and very dreamy. I really like that! This is a rockin' shot!
