Description
We know a lot about Paul Gauguin and Van Gogh for they wrote a lot about what they work was and what art mean to them. I was going to write a big thing here on history but I press the wrong button and it was gone. lol. anyway I just wanted to say people will read into your art the geopolitical and religious rants of the day. i look at people art here and see it; some will even talk about it like "remember 9/11" or some war going on in the world or some wrong in the way people act to each other even if it in sci-fi way. Artist of the past did art for churches and stuff like that. I love to look at like Hieronymus Bosch paintings lol. they are super out there in the art world.
We know a lot of a artist when writes what he thinks and the whys he did that art. I see here art that is no writing on it and i wonder what the artist was thinking. I would like to know! The same with the big artists we see in the art world of the old masters.
Did anyone here knew that Paul Gauguin learned the Tahiti language and even knew how to write it. He wrote about Jesus to them and even painted some paintings with the language of the people in Tahiti painted on it . I saw that on TV one time. I like to learn stuff like that. He did paint "the yellow Chist" too
What I saying is when some artist meet me in person he will see I the same in peson as I am here on this art site. I "talk the talk and walk the walk" I try to live what the Bible say; Yes I mess up but I keep on going. that is my life. other people live diff ways. I just like to state on my life for I know that life.
I will keep on writeing so if people know me will know I will state what on my mind like Van Gogh did. He cut his ear off be cause of drugs he was on at the time.
like here in this photo I took, you see a old part of oil field stuff here and a new one in the back ground. Like the old and the new in the same photo. i like to do contrast in my images like this one here.

I carefully read your presentation on a definition of art. If I have followed (sometimes automatic translation derailed), you think every artist has a definition of art ... like himself. I think exactly like you. To conceive of art, an artist must be filled with emotions of all kinds. His artistic expression will be involuntarily reflects his own interpretation of what he called Art. I admire this photo, depicting the clash of two worlds!

Jock if your useing firefox and you hit the reset button rather then the submit. just right in the now clear empty box choose "UNDO" It will bring it all back. I know bindar dondot!!! this has been another great posting by you jock and nice image!

Nice image. I have been writing ghost stories of louisiana. My neice is a writer, so she is reviewing them now and will help me with the run on sentences. My anut is from sulpher and is a writer too. Oh yea, don't cut your ear.

There is a big fashion at the moment for this sort of 'installation', dressing up existing objects with some sort of embellisment. It makes a very apt illustration for your writings, which I enjoyed so much! One of the big art questions is about whether the viewer receives the same message the artist had in his/her mind, and whether that matters!

fantastic photo! I love Hieronymus Bosch too!! as a former chemical engineer I'm fond of this industrial stuff there's something deeply artistic in their shapes and souls, and I like the contrasts on your pictures/artwork! intense words!!

Good thoughts, Jock. I too look for meaning in images. But, "Art is in the eye of the beholder," which is an old saying that I think will last.
