Description
Still working on that chess set. This week's work was the rooks, bishops, and improving the quality of the board. The rooks and bishops were first created from primitives in DAZ Studio with some basic D-Former work, exported as OBJ files, then loaded into Hexagon for details (the crenelations on the rooks, and the notch on the front of the bishop). The board is a plane with mostly-procedural texture work (the displacement had to be done with a map), and a squished cube underneath.

Very nice piece of modeling, the marble textures are very effective. Look forward to seeing more - especially the knight
