Description

I have placed an image of this shipwreck after our visit last year too. That one was taken in much stormier seas. She was sold as scrap metal and being towed to her new home when she broke lose in a storm and found her last resting place here - a couple of kilometers south of Henties Bay in Namibia. I must admit - she didn't really look worse for wear after a year. I tried to combine the image of her with the interesting sand patterns of the two toned beach sand! Thank you for your valued comments and favs on my upload "Something" of yesterday! Stay well! Hugs, Carin xx

Fascinating! and I'm realising that other folks' sand is not the same as mine.. Yours is light grey, Marilyns is black or dark brown...ours is what I've always called SAND coloured!LOL!

The Internet is a wonderful thing. Your trip peaked my curiosity enough to discover you were on the Skeleton Coast. Great capture and interesting sand patterns. Something romantic about a ship headed for the scrap heap breaking free to find her last rest in the sea.

Fantastic capture! I love the way the beach looks there, stunning! Maybe it's a ghost-ship. ;)

The inclusion of the foreground was a very good idea – great depth and location given to the composition. Very well done, Clive

I really like this shot. If I was a younger man I would be swimming out there to board it and look around. LOL. Love the composition you did in this.

This could make a wonderful photostory to visit every year. In 20 years it will definitely look different and in 40 or so may be gone altogether

The depth is really stellar! My eye finds detail, texture, color and space ... i really love the feel and mood. My heart broke over seeing this wreck... Excellent emotion - at least for me.

Others have said it so I'll just repeat when I say that the depth in this image is superb, as is the contrast of the submerged sand texture and the listing old wreck in the distance. How wonderful! I have yet to see an actual, real-live shipwreck, and I want to. This is fantastic!

The sand effect, with the tide drawing it away, is quick stunning.. A lovely shot overall.. I just hope they don't leave it there.. Because the pollution that will come from it, (rust, oil, etc..) will harm the beautiful area.. and you would not want that... great shot otherwise.. Rob
