Description
The scene then switched to a tall Klingon, clearly half Human, who stood next to another casket. Across from him stood a beautiful redheaded Human woman who was also dripping blood on this casket.
"That's Joshua's sworn brother Gond, head of the House of Kang. And that's Josh's mother. Her blood represents the blood of Khindie's promised one." They all turned to her. Melee nodded. "They were promised to each other."
"But why?" Metla asked. "Why are they doing this? She's dead."
"It's so they can be mated in Sto-vo-kor, the Klingon version of heaven."
"That's what I felt up there." Metla said to the others. "There was a great love there."
The girl nodded. "There was. But they only knew each other for a day. It's what Joshua calls love at first sight. He said they would communicate everyday while he was in the hospital. Right up to the beginning of the final battle." Melee then brought up a final image. It showed a very tall Klingon woman towering over a group of human men and women. "That's Khindie at the hospital on a space station during the war. That's where she met Josh."
"She's beautiful." Kinna whispered. "And very tall."
"Her last words were that she would be waiting in Stobokor for Joshua. And there the Promise shall be fulfilled. You see, she was a virgin, and she'd promised herself to him. For Klingons, there is no higher honor than for a woman to save herself for a warrior. And for a warrior, it is a soul bonding experience for a woman to give her virginity to him in such a manner. Klingon's feel there is a powerful magic in it."
Kinna and Metla looked at Peenk, who stood with tears in her eyes.
"That's silly." she said, leaving for her cabin.
Mulk shook his head as her hatch closed. "Her mouth says it's silly. But her heart say something different."
Kinna turned to Melee. "Did Josh tell you this?"
"Yes." She nodded. "This morning."
Kinna looked over to Metla, who stood staring at the entrance to the Rat's Nest.
"What is it, Metla?" She asked.
Metla turned to them and smiled. "There are very few beings in this universe who can lay claim to a love as great as what he feels for this Khindie. There are even fewer who can say that they've found a second love just as great."
All heads turned to her. "Metla!" Mulk smiled at her. "Are you saying Joshua loves Peenk?"
"I feel it every time he looks at her. There is a love there that they'll make holo romances about." She grinned "And she loves him. But of course, we all know that she'll have a hard time admitting it."
Magenta Montal stepped from Peenk's ready room, tears in her eyes. "Then we'll just have to figure a way to get her to admit it."
