Description

Yet another from my Star Trek collection for your enjoyment today. Here's the USS Excelsior. Question for all those out there. I know all the big ships from the various Star Trek series were built in orbit around various planets, but how did they get the bits into orbit in the first place and how long must it have taken them? Why am I asking this question? The answer will become obvious in a few weeks time when I start showcasing a new multi-series inter-locking series I am in the process of creating.

Great looking model and rendering. Nice picture. And as for your question, I don't know. Why did they feel the need to build the new Enterprise in Iowa and then lift it off into space? I know it 'looked' interesting to see it being welded on in a scaffold, but if that were the case, why not build it on Mars where the gravity is so much lower than Earth... ... Its just a movie!

Outstanding render work! I think this is the best ever federation star ship I seen so far, excellent detail. Enterpise was built on Earth as they where still constructing orbiting shipyards.

Another 'trekkers' dream shot. This is excellent work. Building - modern ships are built in completed sections that are then welded together.I would guess the same is true here.Would probably need some BIG shuttles to haul it but....thats the joy of Sci-Fi.
