Description

The decoration of the crescent moon type sticking to a helmet is a kind of the decoration to be called a "TATE-MONO". The shapes are different every individual. because the crescent moon repeated the cycle of the full moon from the new moon. It expresses immortality. It was liked by many warrior. this armor is called "TOUSEI-GUSOKU". "TOUSEI" means modernistic. It used about 400 years ago. And, Because the dragonfly of the spearpoint can not fly backward, its performance was good for a battle and was called a "KACHI-MUSI" (victory insect). these "KABUTO" (helmet), "YOROI" (armor) and "SHOUZOKU"(outfit) are prizes of 4th WAFOO exhibition in Forum3D. I exhibited my work at the exhibition two weeks ago and got these prizes yesterday. Thank you for explaining the crescent moon and the dragonfly. That tells me things I never knew before. You are very learned and wise, but not loke school. This is interesting and exciting. Great jon! I like that you used the dragonfly to illustrate what you were saying!

really great work and very intersting information too, besides the fine render...smile... I have seen a telvision documentary about those tosei-gusoku and they did a comparison between the knights armor in europe which was very heavy and this armor, which is very light and allows movement. And they found out the tosei-gusoku especially the woven shoulder parts are a better protection than the knights armor...
