Description

This "TATE-MONO" (helmet decoration) is called "ROKU-MON-SEN"(6 coins). "ROKU-MON-SEN" is a ship charges of the "SAN-DU-NO-KAWA" which is the river between this world and the dead world. And "ROKU-MON-SEN" is the crest of SANADA family. この立物（兜の装飾）は、「六文銭」と呼ばれている。「六文銭」は、現世と死者の世界の間にある「三途の川」の渡し賃です。そして「六文銭」は、真田家の家紋です。 The red armor expresses that a military unit equipped with the armor is bold. the unit is called "AKA-ZONAE". 赤染めの鎧は、それを装備した部隊が勇猛であることを表し、その部隊のことは「赤備え」と呼ばれました。 It was succeeded regardless of an ally and enemy in the most bold military unit. 六文銭、真田家という事はしっていましたが、由来、意味などは知りませんでした。成る程三途の川の(^^;! やはり本当に強くないと戦場で目立つ赤い鎧は着られませんよね、しかし威嚇にもなりますよね。

Awesome scene, Fujiko - you can just feel the tension in the air. Blood will be spilled this night.. Love the information - I'm really enjoying this look into the culture and history of Japan. I've always found it fascinating.
