Description

Science Officer's Private Log: Earlier we encountered a Probe of Alien Origin.... It approached the ship at a speed, many times that of light.... an impossible achievement, but achieved, none the less. The Probe was a double cylindrical design with what I could only assume was wings... The Probe was bedecked in markings I was not familiar with.... The Probe emmitted a scanning beam which examined the whole of our ship. It then turn and left the area as fast as it entered. The two cylinders seemed to act as a kind of Particle Ramjet Ion Drive... The Captain and Bridge Crew turned to me for answers. The Probe matched nothing in our database and told them that.... They seemed to take umbrage that I did not kknow the answer, to which the Doctor added... "some Science Officer" I explained to the Captain that I can only tell them what I know... He asked me to speculate... I told him that Vulcans do not speculate....I surmised that the explanation wasn't good enough... Humans have a great capacity for imagination, within minutes of the Probe leaving, the Bridge Crew had come up with seven good scenarios as to where the Probe had come from and what it was doing... somedays I miss the fact that imagination has been bred out of our species... Lt. Spock, Science Officer as per request... I will be, on occasion submitting, for your approval, continuing stories of the Atomic Starship Enterprise, on her maiden voyage to the stars... comments welcome, please enjoy!

That's not logical, but it sure sounds like Spock ! Probably those pesky Borg's...Bjorn, Bertam and Igor doing a wee bit of scouting ! Neat craft design & ~Cheers~

I wonder if the crew experienced any missing time as they were "probed." Well, one can speculate. Well done. Q: What are eyeglasses called on Vulcan? A: Spocktacles

I never watched anything to do with Lt.Spock, Vulcans or crews, out of my league; so I cannot really comment on that, but this Alien Probe-thingy reminds me very much, if I squint, of a 'MUSCA DOMESTICA' (housefly). Actually, coming to think of it...not a bad name for an Alien Probe! what do you think ? BB
