Description

Namibia 2010 I have captured this image just outside Walvis Bay. It is south of the Swakop River and therefore the "sand" desert. We were blessed with wonderful thunder-like clouds, which is very unusual for this close to the ocean, to serve as a perfect backdrop. Oh how I love that country! I read some on the Skeleton Coast today and when I saw this it reminded me of the movie "Flight of the Phoenix", which starred Jimmy Stewart, about plane crash survivors stranded inthe Saudi Arabian desert. The original is a great movie. This is beautiful, stark and desolate and you've done an excellent job of capturing it. Imagine being stranded here.
