Description

Okay, first off, I have NOT vanished off the face of the Earth...despite what my PR Canine may have indicated to the press (this is what I get for not bribing her with enough cookies, I guess). Fact of the matter is that last week my computer decided to up and shut down on me. Literally. Wouldn't reboot for promise of love, nor money nor memory upgrade. Took it in to the shop and found out that the Mother Board was fried (NOT the Power Supply like they had originally suggested -- and I had hoped). Thus we lost our old computer and had to buy a new one. The plus side? This one is MASSIVELY faster and has a TON of memory! Down side? I've completely lost DAZ and all the content I had loaded on it...including a few pieces that I've been working on for almost a year. So that means I have to start from scratch. Reloading over 80 disks worth of content (yes, you read that right) and HOPE I can retrieve some of the old stuff from the back up disks that were burned from the old system. *sigh* BUT, there is an additional silver lining to this tragic tale...we FINALLY joined in the 21st Century and got *wait for it* HIGH SPEED!!!!! NO MORE DIAL UP!!! It's going to take me some time to reload all that content. Sooooo.....in the interim, I'll be seeing what I can work on to post here. ANYWAY.... This is an Orchid from my Mom's collection (she loves 'em, I just kill 'em), this one belonged to her sister who passed away suddenly a few years ago. This is the first time it's bloomed since she's had it and right now it is just LOADED with blooms (60+ at last count). I don't know what kind of Orchid this is but the flowers are just beautiful and about the size (round) of a silver dollar. If anyone knows anything about this particular flower, I would appreciate the information. As to the name? Eh, I'm Italian and I liked it *grin*. Enjoy the diversion and I'll be back to renders just as soon as I get all this content reloaded! Wish me luck! Photo (c) 2010 Twilight Productions

It's good to see you posting again my love! I know how crazy you've been to get back online of late. But at least now you've finally got the major upgrades you desperately needed! Ducks I am so gonna die for that! Very lovely picture! Don't know a thing about plants personally (as you know), but regardless it is a beautiful blossom. Kinda like you!

Welcome to the 21st! Nice to see you with us again! I'm glad that I don't have to name this particular flower else-wise you'd end up with - 'purdy flour'

WHOA! A fried Mother Board? But your hard drive is still okay? Can you install it as a second hard drive in the new machine? Just a thought. So .. may this Enchanted Orchid sprinkle some enchantment on your endeavors which will speed up the process of reloading everything to the new Speed Demon Computer! And Oh boy, what a difference Hi Speed Connections can make! I will never forget the first time I went on line after getting DSL! It was like moving from writing with a chisel on stone tablets to pen and paper!! Gorgeous Orchid that has finally come out of grieving and bloomed!
