Description

This is a picture of the junction box (or whatever that thing is called) in the alley behind my apartment building. It is reflected--as you can see--in a puddle caused by snow-melt. I made this photo in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago on March 12, 2010.

I love photos of those old distribution circuits - looks like some of them were wired by the Three Stooges... Nice touch shooting the reflection! great capture!

Ah, really low tech Borg distribution nodes...at least that's how I think of them, only I have no idea where they all connect up to "Unimatrix O-0-1" but I'm sure it's around somewhere. I also love reflection shots and this is a doozie. I love the little details of the sunken leaves or whatever those pebbly things are. In short, this shot rocks! I love the starkness and the minimalist lines.

Hi Corey...gee I've been AWOL from your gallery for too long. This is a cool shot. Yes, it looks both low tech and complex at the same time. However, everything is relative. I came across a photo of some downtown New York City shot taken in the 1890s...the overhead wires were unbelieveably massive. Your back alley shot looks sophisticated by comparison. Well seen and nicely done.

Oh wow ... that is just outstanding. I looked at it for quite a while, enjoying the image, thinking I was seeing snow falling through the wires. Then I read what you wrote and slapped my hand on my forehead. Dense! Of course it's a reflection! It's so perfect, at first I didn't see it. Excellent image!

I must confess to a fascination with electrical poles and all the thingamabobs that are meshed together on them. I think it is all the lines and tangled connections. It's a tangled mess that funtions. Maybe that's what I like about it. This is a wonderful reflection, which smooths out the color differences and emphases the lines and twisted connections. Excellent image!
