I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Cool capture of this ornate piece of avian work, contrasted against the vast interior of the Nambia countryside, Carin! And add my vote under the category of swan!

You have no idea how long it took me to sound out the names you used! Holy cow, I could from here to there faster than I could say those names. LOL But what a marvelous shot this is. Well composed and nicely focused.

Wonderful image! You know how much I'm loving seeing Namibia, and this is just great. Looks like a swan to me! :) Putting rocks like that is quite common out here. It's not like everybody does it, but it's not unusual. "Fence" in my world isn't the same as in yours! :) This is a wonderful shot. So much to see!

Definitely a swan for sure! I can even see it's eye. Super find, capture and share. Dana

Looks like a swan to me.... But, it really looks awfully like a whale rib... Some people (all over the world) hunted whales and dragged the bodies to the beaches to be cut up... Thus...... Maybe it is ...Maybe it isn't? Great shot though... Rob

I think you've actually captured the rare Namibian Swanstrige...well...maybe it's just driftwood...or a witch, since we all know that witches are made of wood, which is why they float. (Hmmm...I think I've been watching too much Monty Python.) At any rate, I really love this. The POV is superb and gives a real sense of mystery and a calmly isolated feeling. I love it when artwork does that and this most definitely qualifies as artwork. Brilliant!

Must be a Swan, because I can see it's head....lol!! Fantastic shot!!! :>

It might look lie a swan, I agree. It is not made out of wood, but is actually the rib bone of one of the whale species.
