Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Great shot Bill. I guess you beat Tara on the posting, lol. As to the 'Olympia', you better hurry if you plan to visit. They are having trouble maintaining the upkeep and are looking for private funding. I wish I had some of those items off this ship!

Fantastic reflections Bill and I'll have to go over to Tara's gallery next. Zoom mode certainly gets us into all the lovely items in there. Dana

Funny, Steampunk would fit this. Okay, there are no steamy punks ( or more specifically, no Victorian Era difference engines, steam powered computers, or other visual tropes which have since become cliche, but there's filligree and warm golden color, there's detail upon detail, and an oddly fantasy-like element to this. But that's just a ramble. There are so many ways this could be categorized, and the picture itself supports all of it. I like the "Self-Portrait-With-Tara" element of this as well. I recognize her photographer's stance, and the whole vibe of this picture is so warm and alive and giddy in all of the best ways. And what reflections! WOW! Reflections, colors, human interest and all sorts of "veiled realities" in here. NICE!

The multiplied mirror effect makes this shot interesting to me !

How about "Don't look if you are trying to catch up on your comments, because you will become glued to this image." OK, a little long and unwieldy, but accurate. I love the way the items in the room and the reflections get tangled up together! I see a vase on an awning and carpet on a car fender. Love the patterns made by the mirror and tree! Excellent image!
