"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

A great capture from the method you employed. Nearest I got to Seattle was Vancouver a few years ago.

That is one heck of a shot from a moving vehicle! You're right - you just HAVE to see this one at full-size! The closest I've been to Seattle was Portland, OR. many years ago when I was a kid. Had an aunt & uncle that lived there (both gone, now). Such magnificent country up there in the north west. Awesome shot, Bill!

So many familiar sights here---this is a great shot, and even more amazing is you caught it on the move!!

I know just where you were when you took this. That's a great spot on the freeway for taking photos of the city ... as long as you're not driving!! :P Well done -- I'm glad you gave it another try -- this is excellent!

Fantastic shot Bill this is great for a single shot well done on getting it right with the second attempt!!

Holy mackerel, you really outdid yourself in this amazing panorama, Bill, especially considering the conditions you panned this view in! That said, I'm going to sit up close to the monitor and memorize the entire cityscape.

A gorgeous scenic view indeed! I love all the details you've captured of such a wonderful place! Now I can say I understand why they're "sleepless in Seatle"... I would be too, if I could go on a journey to admire all these wonderful places! A marvellous composition Bill!!

This is, most definitely, a zoomer! What details and I love the panoramic scope of this. I love the clarity, the color, the whole sense of sleek, urban mood that remains clean and sleek. Great work.
